My kids (especially Sunshine) have been teasing me with their runny noses these past couple of weeks, so I thought that with the peek-a-boo Spring weather we were getting that they were sprouting allergies right along with the sprouting flowers. Well, the family pediatrician proved me wrong last Monday with xrays of my Little Sunshine. I got to see what pneumonia looks like on a chest xray. Pretty cool, but pretty darn gunky for my sweet girl. The doctor and her staff were amazed by her energy and pinkness, since according to clinical exam she should be miserable.
Well this past Monday we went in for a check-up and Sunshine's chest was clearer but her lung capacity still isn't up to snuff, so we are now the official owners of a nebulizer! Every 4-6 hours we strap her up to the machine and she puffs away! So far it's pretty cool. We'll see how she feels about it by Thursday. I guess she wanted to share the joy in that both Little Man and Baby Girl both sported the latest design in fevers right after we left the doctor and are both now hacking their lungs out and miserable.
The best part of the whole day was the look on the medical equipment deliverer's face when she brought the nebulizer. I hadn't swept the kitchen or done the dishes (I had finally exercised for the first time in a year instead of my morning routine, plus spent the rest of the morning catching up on transcription and cleaning out the carport), so when she needed to wash her hands we led her to the bathroom only to discover I hadn't yet refilled the soap dispenser or put that load of towels in the dryer (I had been gone visiting teaching earlier that afternoon when I usually switch the loads). Because we had Julia in the tub trying to reduce her fever, Ryan was running all over trying to find soap and towels. He finally delivered the lady dish soap and paper towels, and ended up wrapping the freshly-bathed baby in a blanket. Way to improvise honey! By time she left my house, I'll bet she was shaking her head and feeling sorry for my poor little family. Even if she wasn't, boy was I embarrassed!
In celebration of my awesomeness as Mother of the Year, Ryan ordered pizza so I wouldn't have to cook or feel bad about holding my sick babies (even though I was cleaning the kitchen in-between doses of Acetaminophen and Albuterol in spite of myself), while he posted the latest and greatest "Vote Wilcox" billboards and yard signs around North Ogden with his campaign manager!
Such is life... bless my poor mother-in-law who called in the middle of it all and got an earful! Sure love ya mom!

Man, you've had quite the week! I hope your kiddos get better soon so we can plan lunch again!
Hi Kristina,
I tried to comment yesterday and somehow it didn't work. I found you from one of our other high school friends (who I've been discovering over the last several days). I know we were never close, but it's still nice to see how you're doing. Thanks for the glimpse into your world. I hope your kiddos get better soon. I love hearing about the craziness... it happens to the best of us!
